Ventilation

grow room ventilation

Proper grow room ventilation is one of the key factors to successful growing. In order to maintain a healthy climate inside your growbox the extractor needs to remove the heat, produced by the grow light. Plants need CO2 in order to grow. When the extractor is running fresh, CO2 rich air is automaticly drawn in. By connecting the suction side of the extractor to a carbon filter all smells are removed before the air is blown out of the cabinet again.

Extractor fans

The type of light you’re using decides the capacity of the extractor fan you need. A simple indication of the required capacity you need is 50% of the total Wattage of your lights. So for example if you work with a 600 Watt HPS light you need an extractor fan with a capacity of removing 300-m3/hour. It’s always better to choose a fan with some extra capacity.
We sell extractor fans with build-in thermostats that will make your extractor fan run faster when temperature inside the grow cabinet rises. When the temperature drops the extractor will fall back to a very quiet running modus.

Fancontrollers

There’s Always the option to use an external device that controls the running speed of your extractor fan. There are controllers which have other aspects then temperature that decide the running speed (humidity). And there are controllers that use multiple speed levels and so let you even further fine tune the climate inside the grow cabinet.
Whatever you choose make sure not to use a fancontroller in combination with a fan with build-in controllers.
When using it together with one of the 2-speed fans always make sure the fan is set at speed level 2!

Prima Klima Eco Filters

The type of carbon filter you need depends on the capacity of the extractor fan it’s connected to. The contact time of the conteminated air with the carbon should be exactly right for the filter to do it’s work. If the air is drawn through the carbon either to fast or to slow the carbon doesn’t get a change to filter it properly. The Eco filters have an average life span of 11 months. If you need something more sustainable choose one the Industry filters. They hold twice as much carbon as a comparable Eco model and therefore take twice as long before being saturated.

Prima Klima Industry filters

Prima klima Industry filters are the best deal on the market for intensive applications. For professionals who demand premium performance, durability and quality, look no further than Prima Klima’s industrial line of carbon filters. In addition to the unbeatable quality of the activated carbon Prima Klima has also developed a proprietary technique to ensure that all the carbon settles perfectly in the filter. This means that every single cubic centimetre of activated carbon is fully exploited for its intended purpose: industrial-strength air filtration!
